The U.S. men’s basketball team won its fifth straight Olympic gold with a 98-87 victory over France on Saturday.
Steph Curry came to Team USA’s rescue again, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers with two minutes left in the game. He finished 8-of-13 from 3 for 24 points overall.
Kevin Durant and Devin Booker each added 15 points, followed by 14 points, 10 assists and six rebounds from LeBron James. Anthony Davis led both teams with 10 rebounds and four blocks.
Three points was a huge margin for Team USA to win gold. As a team, the USA shot 50% (18-of-36) from 3. By comparison, France shot 30% (9-of-30) from behind the arc.
Durant won his fourth gold medal, the most in Olympic men’s basketball history. James earned his fourth Olympic medal with three golds and one bronze.
Victor Wembaniama scored 26 points with seven rebounds for the host nation. Guerschon Yabusele added 20 runs and Nando De Colo added 12 runs. Nicolas Batum grabbed eight rebounds.

Evan Fournier hit a 3, followed by Nando De Colo’s steal and layup, Kevin Durant blocked the shot, but the goaltending was called to account for the basket. Goaltending is under FIBA rules, folks.

Early on, it looked like Joel Embiid might have been whistled for getting tangled up with Rudy Gobert.
But as the ball went inbounds, the umpires called a technical foul on Anthony Davis for standing in the corner of the court from the bench.
