March Madness 2024: Realignment of the men's Sweet 16 tournament

Then, there were 16.

The rest of the teams in the NCAA tournament all followed their own paths to this point.

For some it was a challenge.

Creighton had to fight off Oregon in double overtime. Houston blew a double-digit lead late before eventually beating Texas A&M in five minutes of extra time. Marquette had to hit big shots in the final minutes to get past Colorado, and NC State had to hold off Oakland in overtime.

For others it was a breeze. UConn, Duke, Arizona, Illinois and Purdue just cruised by.

New heroes like NC State's DJ Burns Jr. and Clemson's Chase Hunter are set to continue in the second weekend. But many of the teams and players in the Sweet 16 are familiar. In most, the higher seeds prevailed.

Now let's see who is building for the final four.

Before we get there, however, we're here to list the Sweet 16, and after everything that's come out so far, we're looking at it.

Check out everything we learned about the teams after the first day of the second round on Saturday and the second day of the second round on Sunday.
