You can now play the original Diablo (and by extension, Hell fire) on almost any web browser on any computer with generally excellent performance and expected controls. All this thanks to an open source project published on GitHub Diabloweb It is now disseminated By game developers on X.

I played the game for about half an hour using MPQ from the GOG version in Firefox on Mac with no problems. (There’s no Mac version of the GOG installer, though, so you had to run the installer on a virtual Windows machine to get the file.) The game is obviously outdated compared to (or even) recent entries in the series. Diablo II), but it’s an addictive blast to play regardless.
