Primary Election Day in the Lower Hudson Valley is today, Tuesday, June 25, 2024. Polls begin at 6 a.m. and close at 9 p.m. In New York, you can vote in the primary election if you are a registered member of the party that holds the primary election. How is the voting in the primaries?
As of 12:25 p.m., 17,451 votes had been cast in Westchester County.
The main race this year is Jamal Bowman vs. George Latimer
Incumbent race in New York’s 16th Congressional District Representative. Jamal Bowman and challenger, Westchester County Executive George Latimer in a Democratic primary.
Much attention has been paid to the race, spending on the most expensive primary race in the House of Representatives this year. Another focus is the difference of opinion between the two in the Israel-Hamas war.
Early polls had Latimer in the lead, but in recent days, Bowman has tapped Sen. Bernie Sanders and Rep. Teamed up with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Meanwhile, Latimer, former first lady, Sen. He has the support of Hillary Clinton and Bowman’s former ally, former Rep. Montere Jones, who is running for Congress in NY-17 in November.
