YouTuber comicstorian dies aged 40 after ‘unfortunate accident’

Beloved YouTuber Ben Potter, known as Comixtorian Online, has died in an “unfortunate accident”.

He is 40 years old.

“Two days ago, on June 8th, my husband Ben Potter passed away in an unfortunate accident,” said his wife, Nathalie Potter. Published Monday on his X account.

“To many of you, he was the comicstorian, giving voice to stories from various media. To his loved ones, he was one of the nicest and most supportive people anyone could ever ask for,” the grieving widow wrote to her fans.

Natalie explained how her husband was the “rock” of their family and that he always “did his best to make everyone laugh and make sure they were okay.”

“As a husband, a son, a brother, a friend or even a stranger, Ben was kind and genuine. He was someone who made time for his loved ones and listened,” she wrote.

“His channel was one of his greatest achievements and while we all need time to mourn him, I know he wouldn’t want it to end like this.”

Potter’s wife shared that she and his team plan to continue his channel, “to honor him by continuing the great stories of great men, as well as keep the memory of our own superhero alive”.

“We’ve supported each other in everything we’ve wanted to do, and I’m not going to stop now.”

The cause of his death is unknown.

Potter started his YouTube channel in 2014 and has gained over three million subscribers in the years since.

He overcame his love for comics by creating audio dramas for his YouTube channel.

The self-proclaimed comic nerd also shares videos Channel Reveals his opinions, reviews and close analysis of various comic books and superhero products, especially Marvel and DC films.

The superhero enthusiast also owned a gaming channel Worthy monster gaming With nearly 200K subscribers, he’ll discuss “video game lore” from fan-favorite franchises like “Assassin’s Creed” and “Resident Evil.”

Potter also has a self-titled vlog and manga channel. The MangastorianIt contains comics or graphic novels from Japan.

His opinions and insights into comics and gaming made him a beloved figure online, with many of his fans expressing their sadness at the news of his death.

“She did so much for so many people. I’m absolutely devastated to hear this. Rest in peace, Ben,” one fan commented under Natalie’s post.

“I’m so sorry for your loss. Ben was a huge inspiration to me. It’s really heartbreaking,” shared another.

“My heart absolutely sank reading this, my God…I am so sorry for your loss, Natalie. Ben’s name rang many bells in the comic book community & is a major reason why so many of us are involved with the character the way we are today. May his soul rest in peace,” wrote another fan.
